Think of the best gift you've ever received. Or the best gift you've ever given. Chances are, these gifts were not the most expensive or trendiest. Their value is in what they meant and still mean years later.
Give your loved ones one of those gifts that will last a lifetime with a fully archival custom oil painting. Believe it or not, even digital photographs can decay over time. Personalized paintings can last thousands of years, immortalizing your loved ones forever. Paintings include a certificate of authenticity and an optional personal note.
For a base level cost estimate, prices are determined by multiplying the height by the width of the painting. Detailed work may cost more.
Each custom oil painting takes 20-40 hours to paint, the dry time between layers is what will take the longest. From start to finish, please allow 2 to 3 weeks, or more depending on the complexity of the painting.
There are many reasons to buy art, and there are tons of artists out there. When you hire an artist to paint a picture, I recommend taking the time to do some research to find an artist that you love.
I do know one thing for sure, massed produced art will never go up in value, and if it does, it won't go up nearly as much as an original oil painting. I stand by the quality of my art and the skills required to complete each painting. I am a member of The International Guild of Realism and have competed in national juried art shows. When you purchase a painting from me, you are getting a work of art that can hopefully double as a long term investment.
Aluminum composite material is one of the latest innovations in painting. Initially used in the advertising realm for corporate displays and screenprinting. Thus transition into the fine art world was natural. As an artist who paints custom paintings from photographs quite often, there are benefits to both.
Canvas or linen is better suited than Aluminum for huge paintings over 24x36 inches because of weight and other factors. I'm not saying it's not possible to get an aluminum panel bigger than 24x36 inches, it's just not practical. Aluminum stretcher bars are a fantastic addition to any traditional canvas painting, as they have many of the benefits of aluminum panels but can also scale to huge sizes.
Oil is an organic material, that has a shelf life like many household goods. Whenever you paint on a canvas, oil over time decays and rots the linen or canvas substrate with it over a hundred-plus-year period.
Wood has a tendency to warp in just about every environment. These inefficiencies can result in cracking, damaging your long-term investment over its life, sometimes in as little as months. I always recommend Aluminum Stretcher bars for stretched canvas.
